Christmas card time

One of the reasons I love this time of year is receiving and giving christmas cards. I love looking at the different designs to choose from.

Add caption

I was looking at tinyprints and  saw some good ones. Check out the website here to see which ones you would choose. They have one picture ones to 3 or more picture cards. They have flat and  tri fold ones. So many options that it is hard to choose from. Which one of my picks do you like the best? Hope you find the one for you.

Happy Shopping.

I thought the back of this one was very colorful and not the tradtional christmas card.

love this color combo

love the shape of this one

The feast

Today Cadence had a feast and a little concert at school today. She was great singing the songs.
The moms had to wear bonnetts and the dads wore pilgram hats. I kinda got a good picture. I cannot the video of her singing to upload. It ws cute though.

I'm Blank because....

I thought this idea was really neat. Head over toAshleys blog and check out her answers and caseys blog, thought it be fun to do.

I am weird because....

I cannot sleep with socks on
I need the sheets to be cold
and the pillow to be cold

I love to vaccum
I get excited when I see the mail truck,
even if there is not "good mail"
I need to the beds made everyday to
continue my day.

I am a bad friend because

I may not always remember birthdays
I am bad at returning phone calls or keeping in touch
with distance friends
I do not make a effort to get together

I am a good friend because

I would stop what I was doing to help them
I would watch their kids in a heartbeat, eventhough I watch kids
everyday for my job
I would bring them dinner at anytime
I will listen
I will give

I am sad because...
My family lives far away
I get impatient with my children
I feel money makes me happy sometimes
I have to work fulltime
some dreams did not come true

I am happy because
I have a wonderful family
I have a wonderful husband
I have a house
I have wonderful friends
I am getting Christmas decorations out
I will see my family soon
I have amazing  children who teach me to grow everyday.

5q Friday

1. Do you have a go to song that always puts you in a good mood?
right now I like dynamite by Taio Cruz and happy days(Christian song) by Fee I can have the worse day and hearing these 2 songs snap me right out of it.

2. Are you a real Christmas tree kinda person or do you go with a real fake one?I like the fake ones. You can put it up earlier and here are no needles falling everywhere and you do not have to water, but you do not have the pine needle smell. I would still get the fake though.

3. What are you thankful for?
Life. Plain and simple. I have so many blessings and a house and food and a job and a wonderful family.

4. Which fashion fad from the past do you wish you could wear today?not sure I would pick anything.

5. Do you wait until the "low fuel" light comes on before you fill up the gas tank?
Lol! I am pretty much wait until it says 2 miles until empty and then get gas. Sometimes I wait until 0 miles until empty and pray I make it to a gas station.  My husband always yells at me if I do not make it to the gas station and he has to stop. Sorry!

Have a good Friday and weekend!

Gum drop turkeys

I made these with the kids today. So easy and cute. I saw it on pinterest. my new love.

1_attach a small gumdrop to the end of 5 of the toothpicks, and poke into the large gumdrop to form the turkey's tail and body.

2_cut a gumdrop in half and attach to the turkey body as wings.

3_create the turkey head by first cutting two small pieces of marshmallow and attaching them to a gumdrop as the whites of the eyes (the sticky marshmallow adheres quite well!). push a small candy nerd into the center of each eye. poke a larger candy nerd in the center to form a beak, and then trim a small chunk of the gummy worm to form the snood (red flap that falls along the beak).

4_cut the last toothpick in half and use it to connect the head to the body of the turkey.

Wordless wed fall fun

I wanted to something with tepees but wanted it to be fun and easy for the kids to make. I got this idea from my addiction pinterest.

You will need bag of pretzel sticks, frosting and sugar cones.
I put a dab of frosting on their plate and 3 pretzel sticks.

I had to break some of the top oiled the cone off so that we could put the pretzel stick in them. I then had them spread frosting in the cone so the pretzels would stay in place.
Very carefully we inserted the pretzels in the hole on top.
I left this optional, but they covered the cone in frosting to make it white like some of the pictures they saw.

We left them on a plate to dry and will enjoy as a snack later!

Being a parent

Being a parent is one of the hardest things in life (I Feel) and I challenge myself everyday to be a better parent and raise my children with bibilical ways. I find myself relying on God for disipline and strength and most of all patience. Children have such little minds and curious minds and everyday my children teach me something new. I stuggle with being patient and learning from my children and what I can teach them, and I struggle with not enjoying the small things in life and the time I have with my children. I always make sure the house is clean and things are finished and no dishes in the sink, but meanwhile there are 3 little angels wanting my attention and acting up to get it. I forget that life is to short and before I know it they will be gone.
I pray everyday for my children and to have a Godly relationship and keep God as our foundation.
Doing this makes me pay attention to the small things and slow down and enjoy the time I have with my kiddos and not worry what the house looks like. Who cares right? God sure does not and the kids do not, all they care about is having fun with mommy and showing me what they did at school that day.
When the kids disobey, I always ask them what would God want to you to do? God wants you to obey your parents. This keeps me focused on being a Godly parent and staying calm and communicating with them, instead of yelling and sending them to their rooms, which I have done in the past.

God is my disipline and I lean on him everyday.

Halloween fun

The kids had a blast trick r treating this year. Kaelis had fun hanging with mommy passing out candy. We had captain America Bat girl and tutu kitty this year.
most of the culdesac gang> Kaelis would not let me put her down, that is why the picture is blurry, she was touching my phone while I was taking the pic!
