I love honest company products, they have so many things to choose from.
I use to use chemical base things, like windex and endust, but after I had kids and they would be touching things, I wanted to go natural.
I have tried a lot of natural products, but a few have stuck .
The honest company is great for all natural.
I use the multipurpose , glass cleaner, toilet cleaner.
What I like about them is they do not smell , but still clean and disinfect. I  like knowing there are no harsh chemicals left behind. The best part... Ready... My kids can help and I know that they are not using harsh chemicals. The is the best !Don't you agree?

I also like method multipurpose . I like the cucumber melon scent. It smells so good. I use it for my black furniture.
When I use newspaper and the honest glass cleaner and the mirrors are sparkling.

I love vinegar for my floors.  Using a wet mop is the best use for me. I mix 1/2 water and 1/2 vinegar and mop away. Every now I then I use the old method and get down on my hands and knees and wash them that way. My knees do not like that way at all. I will stick with he mop.

These are a few things I use for cleaning on a regular basis. A lot of honest products are at target now, but there are a lot more choices in their website.
I would love to hear products  you use to switch it around a little.

other honest products I use :
 Kids body wash
Hand soap
Laundry detergent

As warm weather is slowing creeping in I think about our neighborhood and our culdesac family.
Growing up in a not so child friendly neighborhood, I never knew  how much living in a good neighborhood can have such an impact.
Our summers are filled with water slides, bounce houses, snow cones and bare feet running around and screams of joy to be heard.

There are 12 kids just in our culdesac alone. I love culdesacs. The only cars that come most of the time are the people living on the

street. An occasional turnaround will occur, but with 12 kids all around that tends to slow things down.

Our neighbors are stores when we run out of something , our snow plows when we are not home to shovel, our entertainment when things are looking dull , a support system And a kitchen  when things happen unexpectedly.

Our kids will remember their summers and hanging with neighbors until the street light comes on. Making s'mores over a fire pit on a cool fall night .

Sledding down our hill and building snowmen.

Our neighborhood has a pool and we are there everyday in the summer. Soaking up rays.

Piles of kids step onto the bus in August after the summer comes to an end.
I love our neighborhood and that is filled with noise and laughter. Would not a change a thing.

Whose ready for summer?

Things I am loving

There are always a few things that I love.
I truly love them. These are things I am not sure I cannot live without at this moment.

Do you have those things? Ok, here they are.

1. Homemade trail mix

I am doing the whole30 diet.(no dairy, sugar, wheat, rice for 30 days) Let me tell you , it is a huge challenge for me, but I  am sticking with it.  I had a hard time finding the right kind of snacks.
A friend told me about this trail mix and I am so glad she did.

Mixed nuts, raisins and a sugar free protein bar. Yummy. It's the sweet and salty that does it.

2. Apples and almond butter

I love this snack as well.

3. Root makeup

Liz Quick from the thequickjourney introduced this makeup to her Instagram feed and I am so glad she did. I have searched for years for that right makeup that would not leave a greasy feeling or makeup that would still be on at the end of the day. I will never go back to any makeup that is not root. You can color match, have a variety of eyeshadows and so much more! Please check it out. You will not be sorry! Your face will thank you.
It's also all natural. No chemicals. click  for the website.

4. Converse shoes
I do not have a pair of these yet, but I will soon! I am waiting for the warmer weather . I love these.

5. Fleece lined leggings

I love leggings, but in the winter my legs get cold. I would always wear 2 pairs for a little more warmth. When I found fleece lined leggings , I fell in love. They are so soft and warm. I have 3 pairs. Yep. Cannot have to many.

Well there is the top five for this month.

What are you liking right now?

Thank goodness for microwaves and Jesus

I am a big coffee drinker and honestly that is first thing I think about in the morning. I work out first thing and shower and then take the long stairwell to the smell of coffee. Seriously, I can think of nothing else, but the coffee.
As I am gearing to take my first sip and enjoy some quiet time, I hear little footsteps coming downstairs and having a sip of coffee by myself is no more.
As moms we always feel tired and sometimes overwhelmed, and I am so needing that little boost of caffeine , savoring every sip I take, but I always put it in the microwave to be warmed up multiple times and
Instead of being annoyed that the coffee is cold, I pray to God to give me the boost I need and let him be the caffeine I need.
He will encourage me, he will guide me. He is my cup of coffee and will fill it more than coffee will.
I love being a mom and at times will feel like I can never catch up, but we always do when God is with us.

Isaiah 40:31
But those who hope in the Lord, will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk not be faint.

Unknowing motherhood

Before receiving the name mom, I thought I knew what being a mom was all about.
Motherhood has a whole new meaning when you actually become a mom.
There were several things I did not know until I became a mom.
Having your own  baby defines Motherhood.
We are keepers of objects and have a pile of emotions left on our shoulders.

I had no idea the lack of sleep I would really got. Holding the new human being that I waited for 9 months to see, but crying Because all I wanted to do was to sleep.
My eye balls heavy as I hold and nurse my baby and afraid if I fall asleep I will drop him.

I had no idea that my heart would hurt so much when I hear them cry.

I had no idea how much my child would depend on me and give me the defaults on my status because I am mom.
My child needed me all the time, but soon realized I needed them unconditionally as well.

I had no idea the phases with ages and the temper tantrums and the fits would happen so often. The dislikes of food, and the number of diaper changes that would take place.

I had no idea that I would love somebody  other than myself and more .

I had no idea that medical things would happen and they would need treatment for a bit.

I had no idea that I would feel so exhausted every moment of the day and that I would be a homework helper and supporter and a hide and go seeker.

I had no idea about so many things,
But I do know that being the mother of these 3 is the best thing that I will ever know and I cannot do life without them.

Map coaster/Tutorial

I made these coasters for an adoption shower last month. You can read the post here . These are really easy and inexpensive. You may even have all the supplies in your house.

Tile( you can get some really cheap at lowes or Home Depot)
Modge podge
Foam brush
Atlas. (I have misplaced my atlas book so I that is why it is not posted)
Since I lost my atlas book I will not have a picture of the next 2 steps, but should be easy to understand.

I placed the tile on the paper/Map and traced around it for a more even shape.
I used an exto knife to cut it out.

I used the modge podge on top of the map to keep it in place.

That is it. These would make great gifts or just a great coaster for you .

If you wanted it a little more personal, find the city and or state that you live in or the person you are making it for lives in.

Distance from family can be hard.
I have been long distance from my family for several years and I have adjusted.
Some days I want to call my mom and have her come over or meet mom and dad for dinner.
Distance keeps family away from sports events, family dinners, chats in person.
Distance keeps me away from seeing my nephew and soon to be nephew #2.

Distance forces me to make friends. Distances forces me to adapt without family.
Distance is good for those visits that happen once maybe twice a year and the excitement of the heart because you are about to see family.
Distance teaches me to enjoy every moment when we are together because it will end sooner rather than later.

I have 2 sisters and distance keeps me from visiting them at anytime.
Distance is less cousin time and papa and nana time.
This picture was a few years ago. Distance makes it hard to have updated pictures.

Some days it is harder than others, but distance makes you tough and teaches you to be strong.
Distance  is better with FaceTime. We at least pretend we are there in person.

Distance from my family has me thankful for such a great support group from friends . They are my family away from home .

I Prayerfully hope one day distance will not keep us apart, but until that day, I wi enjoy my family of 5 and live each day to its fullest.

Valentine traditions

Since another Valentine's Day is approaching, I thought I would share some traditions on Valentine's Day.
Valentine's Day is just another day for me. In my opinion I do not need a day to show how much I love my husband or my  kids. I know , such a Debbie Downer.
I do remember when I was a teenager and if I did not have a boyfriend on Vday I was a hot depressed mess. Why? How silly does that sound?
 Anyway enough with that sappiness.
What I remember about Valentine's Day is my mom would decorate the table and make a good breakfast. She would always get us a little something.
I have continued those memories by decorating the table every Valentine's Day and cook a fun breakfast.

I better get moving on this years table.

When the kids get up and see the table the delight and excitement I see in their eyes is worth the time I put in to making sure everything is perfect.
I love the memories that my mom created and I love the memories I am creating for my kids.

And because this picture is so cute

Do you do anything for Valentine's Day?

Chores for kids

I am a list maker and I like crossing the things I have done off. It feels like a sense of accomplishment.
Since I am a list maker and because chores builds responsibility and independence for the growing child, I decided to make the kids chore charts( well not make them, but find them ha!)
The kids have always done chores, but they had nothing visual to look at and check off when they completed them.
Sorry about the blurry picture

. What I like about it is the spaces are blank and I can change out the chores every week or just change out when I need to.

Somethings I have listed.
•make bed
• feed cat, turtle, dog
• clean bathroom
•put your laundry away

This little stinker loves to vacuum, just like her mama.

Since Kaelis cannot read yet, I thought a picture chart would be the best way for her.

I like how simple this is. She knew exactly what each picture meant.

This has really kept all of us on track and by seeing what is check off, gives them a sense of success.

What is your system? Do your kids do chores.

Moments these days are so important. When I can get just a moment to sip some coffee slowly and enjoy every taste I embrace it.

Being able to open my bible and read the word is becoming a thing of the past. Life  gets in the way, but I need more of those moments that I can do that. I need to make time. Is that such a thing anymore?

When my daughter hands me a book asks her to read it to her, I stop and read. It's a moment I will never get back.

I am learning to slow down and look around at the beauty and the moments that seem to pass by so quickly.
I find it hard to slow down, but I need too.

What are some of your favorite moments?

Slow cooker chicken philly sandwiches

This sandwich makes me think of my childhood and getting Philly steak sandwiches at Great steaks. Oh my, they were so good. So good that I did not want my chewing to stop.
It's always that first initial bite that gets me everytime.
I found this recipe on Pinterest and thought it sounded pretty close to what my mouth remembers.

Original recipe Here

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large sweet onion, sliced
  • 2 green bell peppers, sliced
  • 3 boneless,skinless chicken breasts, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Dale's Steak Seasoning (off brand tastes just as good) (this will be by the marinades it's a sause, not actual seasoning)
  • sliced Mozzarella cheese
  • hoagie rolls

  1. Spray a 3 - 4 quart slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray and turn to LOW heat.
  2. Add butter, onions and green peppers.
  3. Toss chicken with steak seasoning, salt and pepper, then add to slow cooker.
Cover and cook for 5 hours.
  1. Serve on hoagies with a slice of cheese melted on top.

This is so good and easy! A great combination. My whole family loved it. That's saying a lot!

Perfection .... Er... Lack of

Is perfection really a thing? I think to some people it is. I think admitting we do not have it all together can be hard, harder than pretending everything is perfect.
Sometimes I find myself just crazy obsessed over somebody's perfections, well I think they are perfections or is just fake?

What do you all think about this?
Sometimes when I stand in the background and observe or listen to conversations and pick out the perfect people who seem to have it all together.but in reality maybe they are talking about their faults and in my head I think  there is not any.

I prayerfully want to let go of the urge to have perfection . God is in control and he knows nobody is perfect. That is why he died for our sins. Right?

Should we be open about our failures or only keep them to ourselves or really close friends?
