Slow cooker chicken philly sandwiches

This sandwich makes me think of my childhood and getting Philly steak sandwiches at Great steaks. Oh my, they were so good. So good that I did not want my chewing to stop. 
It's always that first initial bite that gets me everytime. 
I found this recipe on Pinterest and thought it sounded pretty close to what my mouth remembers.

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large sweet onion, sliced
  • 2 green bell peppers, sliced
  • 3 boneless,skinless chicken breasts, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Dale's Steak Seasoning (off brand tastes just as good) (this will be by the marinades it's a sause, not actual seasoning)
  • sliced Mozzarella cheese
  • hoagie rolls

  1. Spray a 3 - 4 quart slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray and turn to LOW heat.
  2. Add butter, onions and green peppers.
  3. Toss chicken with steak seasoning, salt and pepper, then add to slow cooker.
Cover and cook for 5 hours.
  1. Serve on hoagies with a slice of cheese melted on top.

 This is so good and easy! A great combination. My whole family loved it. That's saying a lot!
